Hail Storm

A few weeks back we had a major storm come in and dump a ton of hail on the valley.  Chris wanted to go hit up Peralta Trail.  Ever since we have lived out there we have always wanted to see all of the water falls off of the mountains after it rains or during.  But when we lived out there we had a two wheel drive vehicle and we didn't want to take the risk.  So now that we have a four wheel drive vehicle we want to go see it.

This is traffic on the way into Gold Canyon.  There were 3 car wrecks on the way in.  One at Tomahawk, one coming into Gold Canyon and a roll over about a 1 mile from the 2nd wreck.  It was a mess!

This would be the reason why there was traffic.  And I feel horrible that I took this picture because it makes me look like a weirdo.  All I ask that no one seriously was hurt in this wreck.

The mountains off of Peralta Trail

I sure do miss living out here for this reason.

Just beautiful!

Then when we came home we checked out what was up against our house.  We could tell that it all came in from the north because there was nothing on the south side of our house.

Daniels first spring training game

Well we took Daniel to his first spring training game.  It didn't go as well as Chris and I we had planned.  When we ordered the tickets through his work we thought Daniel would be totally stoked to go!
Well at first it started like this:

Then at about this time we lost Brookes sippy cup under the bleachers.

This was about the only time we got to actually watch the game without some kind of request from one of the kids.  At that point we had no idea what was going on in the game.

Then after we took this picture I had Daniel go down to retrieve the sippy cup that we lost.  While Chris was taking Daniel to get washed Brooke threw these adorable gap sunglasses under the bleachers...at that point we were all irritable - the kids were tired and Chris just wanted to go.  I wanted to fetch Daniel to go get them but the whole trip over all was bad.

At least I got a picture of me in here...

Brookes big girl bed!!

I sold the crib Saturday.  Yesterday (sunday) I painted some stripes on Brookes wall.  It was a lot of work and even tho her room didnt come out as I imagined it still looks super cute.  I keep my self from staying too long in her room because then my OCD traits start to come out and I don't want to bother because I'll just drive myself crazy.
Last night was her first night in it and she did so awesome!  I walked her back to her room and put her up on her bed and told her to go night night like we do every night and I turned on her projector and music and walked out.  I didnt hear anything until 1230 this morning.  I went back in there and told her to lay back down and she did and I didn't hear anything from her until 6:30 this morning!!  For the last 3 months I have lost sleep because she didn't want to sleep in her crib and I wasn't sure what exactly she was trying to tell me.  I thought it may have been since Daniel has always slept with us and that she may have wanted to too.  Next time I will trust my motherly instincts!

Brooke is turning 2!

This morning I took the kids to the park.  Before getting the park I pulled off into a green area so I could take some pictures of Brooke for her Evite.  She has def come around to taking pictures.  She used to not look at me when taking pictures.  Now its hard to get a pic without the cheesy smile she gives me...I guess beggers can't be choosers!

Daniel has always been really good about taking pictures.  He wanted me to snap him.

And with Caleb...

Building Brookes Big Girl Bed!

We got Brooke a big girl bed, So on Christmas Eve Chris decies to put the bed together.  It didnt take us long.  Daniel sure enjoied helping out.  He loves building stuff with his dad.  Since making this bed she is yet to sleep in it.  We are still trying to sell her crib and dresser/changing table so we can have the money to go get her a mattress.  Plus, this furniture stinks!  It came new in the box but its hard to imagine how furniture new can stink so badly!  So we are hoping that the smell goes away soon so her clothes don't smell.

Now the trundle.

And Brooke was sleeping (how else could we put it together so fast?), Daniel wanted some credit for helping put it together - so he wanted to pose with the bed.

And then he wanted me to get a picture of him on his bike....

Cutting down our first Christmas tree

A few weeks ago we went on our first Christmas Tree cutting trip.  We didn't pick the best weekend to go since we had a weekend full of storms coming up from the pacific but we kept in touch with family members as we went and had service.  We didn't have any problems going or coming back.  I was amazed on how many people continued to go through the snow and ice unprepared and unequipped like they were.

The pic above is off the beeline.  We were taking a potty break and this is right before going down in the first canyon.

If you look closely there are elk ahead.  This is on my parents road to their property in Show Low.

She wasn't too crazy about being bundled up like she was.  She couldn't move at all and kept either slipping or getting stuck.

Daniel came prepared to help dad get the tree

This is the tree we picked for my in laws that couldn't make it but bought a permit.

Rather than driving up in the dark in snow and ice we booked a hotel.  Since Chris works for SRP, he got a killer deal with breakfast included in the morning.  It was such a nice piece of mind coming back to a room with heat, hot water and warm bed!

OK so this is where this website takes over and wont let me do what I want or need to do.  The pic of Chris holding our Christmas Tree.  I didn't get a chance to take a pic like the first tree because it was on the side of the road and we didn't want to unload the kids and plus we were right off the main road.

The pic above is a picture of some snow on my parents property.  It was so pretty up there!  It def put me in the Christmas spirit.  I wasn't feeling it until I had the Christmas tree up!

Our Christmas tree undecorated....been slacking on the decorated version.
