Cutting down our first Christmas tree

A few weeks ago we went on our first Christmas Tree cutting trip.  We didn't pick the best weekend to go since we had a weekend full of storms coming up from the pacific but we kept in touch with family members as we went and had service.  We didn't have any problems going or coming back.  I was amazed on how many people continued to go through the snow and ice unprepared and unequipped like they were.

The pic above is off the beeline.  We were taking a potty break and this is right before going down in the first canyon.

If you look closely there are elk ahead.  This is on my parents road to their property in Show Low.

She wasn't too crazy about being bundled up like she was.  She couldn't move at all and kept either slipping or getting stuck.

Daniel came prepared to help dad get the tree

This is the tree we picked for my in laws that couldn't make it but bought a permit.

Rather than driving up in the dark in snow and ice we booked a hotel.  Since Chris works for SRP, he got a killer deal with breakfast included in the morning.  It was such a nice piece of mind coming back to a room with heat, hot water and warm bed!

OK so this is where this website takes over and wont let me do what I want or need to do.  The pic of Chris holding our Christmas Tree.  I didn't get a chance to take a pic like the first tree because it was on the side of the road and we didn't want to unload the kids and plus we were right off the main road.

The pic above is a picture of some snow on my parents property.  It was so pretty up there!  It def put me in the Christmas spirit.  I wasn't feeling it until I had the Christmas tree up!

Our Christmas tree undecorated....been slacking on the decorated version.

Chris's Birthday

Last Tuesday we celebrated Chris's 26th birthday. We didnt sing happy birthday to him - I guess he feels 26 yrs old is too old to be sung to... the cake and ice cream cake his mom got was delish but I on my best behavior :).
